Client education

Give clients the warning before a scammer gives them the story.

Five practical, single-page handouts for engagement packs. Choose the version that matches your workflow, add your firm's logo, and give clients one clear rule: stop and call a known number before money or details change.

Choose your practice

Specific enough to recognise the risky moment.

Each variant names the real trigger events in that profession and gives clients a short stop-and-callback response. Download the print-ready PDF or edit the DOCX to fit your engagement terms.

Mortgage brokers

Loan applications, refinance instructions, valuation fees and settlement payments.

Financial advisers

Rollovers, withdrawals, investment instructions and changed destination accounts.

Real estate agencies

Deposits, trust disbursements, bonds and rental payment changes.

Conveyancers / legal practices

Settlement funds, trust money and changed bank details.

Accountants

Refund accounts, tax-time disclosures and client payment instructions.

Brandability instructions

Make it yours without weakening the warning.

Place your logo in the designated [Firm logo here] space near the footer. Add your practice name and check that the phone number clients will find on your website is current.

Adapt the wording to your procedures and engagement terms, but keep the independent-callback instruction and the understated “Verification by Vericode” credit line. Give the handout at engagement and again before a high-risk transaction.

Why this exists

Client education is part of the control.

The Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner warns that scammers target both practices and their clients. LPLC guidance likewise recommends educating clients, agreeing how bank details will be exchanged, and checking payment instructions through a known channel. These public sources recognise the risk; they do not endorse Vericode.

General client education only, not legal advice. Adapt each handout to your practice, procedures and engagement terms.
